In 2017, only 11% of films were directed by women.

Inspired by the #TimesUp movement, Walmart teamed up with Melissa McCarthy, Dee Rees ("Mudbound") and Nancy Meyers ("The Intern") and created an integrated program that brought together the world's largest retailer and Hollywood's biggest night. Seeded through online :15 teasers, we enlisted a student filmmaker to create a “Box” film to continue the effort.
